Media Controversy Over the Magical Orb With Unlimited Powers

As Peter Ruston, founder and sole owner of the world alliance of magicians, Petroruss-inc, announced last week that he had in his possession a magical orb with unlimited powers, the media went wild with speculation. Accusations were made about the claim, as to whether it was a media ploy to revive the world’s interest in magicians or just a hoax made by an aging and mentally unstable man, living in a fairy tale world of make-believe.

Magicians from around the world have come to Peter Ruston’s defense, citing years of valuable guidance and leadership provided by Ruston through Petroruss-inc. David Copperfield went so far as to say that he would have never had a career if it weren’t for Ruston, he is quoted as saying to Larry King Live, “he taught me how to push magic in ways I had never imagined.” Several other lesser-known magicians have come to the spotlight as well, eager for recognition, although it is unclear whether they have had a personal relationship with Ruston or not.

Chris Angel published on his blog yesterday that he has seen the orb, and that the powers unleashed by it are the reason he has been so successful. He claims that Ruston allowed him to use the orb to provide him with the tricks necessary to achieve fame in the late 90′s and continues to allow him to revisit the orb to recharge his powers as often as he likes. He went on to say that the levitation trick he performed last week at Cesar’s Palace was a direct result of having been in the orb’s presence.

Peter Ruston has appeared on numerous world news stations in the past week, announcing his intention to begin offering sessions to aspiring magicians with the magical orb as a part of a magician’s boot camp program he intends to start at his magician’s mansion in Los Angeles. When questioned about the one hour session price of $1,000, Ruston told one news correspondent that he wanted to ensure that only serious magicians are exposed to the powers the orb contains. He also stated that only magicians with a license may apply for a session, as the orb’s powers are only to be used for entertainment purposes, and does not want the general public to misuse such a powerful tool.
